Hello! I am Nika, a queer creative, visual artist and graphic designer from Salta, Argentina. I am also a founder member of art collective La Marginale and I'm currently based in Berlin, Germany.
I collect what others leave behind — fragments of the city and traces of our daily lives. Working primarily with found materials and urban waste collected from the street, my practice begins with a process of selection: an intuitive form of curation where I choose, preserve, and prepare what I find.
Using collage and assemblage as my primary techniques, I create abstract compositions that explore color, texture, and transformation, challenging fixed ideas of beauty, value, and the notion of “waste” itself.
For me, upcycling is more than reuse. It’s an act of defiance — a response to systems of excess and disposability, but also a personal language of survival. Turning what is broken, overlooked, or discarded into something alive again becomes both a political and an emotional gesture.
My process is slow and intuitive allowing each piece to emerge from the materials themselves. The city is both my source and my collaborator.
Each work carries a bit of the street, a bit of me, and a bit of all of us. This practice is a way of staying connected — to chaos, to tenderness, and to the persistent possibility that beauty still exists in the most unexpected places.
